Augusztus 8-án Barcelonából Budapest felé repültem, amikor a gép jobb oldalán közvetlenül az ablak előtt halvány fehér halo-oszlop jelent meg. A kristályok annyira közel voltak, hogy egyenként lehetett látni a csillogásukat. A nap a repülőgép mögött 54 fok magasan volt, míg az oszlop szinte merőlegesen a gépre. Ezen kívül az oszlop előtt is látszott olykor egy vagy kettő felfénylés. A jelenség 2-3 percen át tartott. The pillar was white and the crystals were so near that I could see them individually. The sun was behind the plane at 54 degs elevation. The display lasted two or three minutes.
